Growth Strategist

Acart is a full-service agency that understands that the evolving intersection between strategy, media and effective creative in ways that help transform brands-an agency driven by curiosity and data. We create work that builds brands, fuels commerce and drives measurable outcomes for our clients.

We are on the search for a full-time Growth Strategist to join our team. The Growth Strategist works as a marketing manager with the sole client being Acart. In your role, you’ll report to our Chief Strategy Officer and work closely with the Executive to build the yearly strategic communications and marketing plan for the agency. You will then execute the plan with the support of key individuals within the agency – creative, digital, strategy, marketing, and client experience. We’re looking for someone who is well-versed in all relevant and emerging marketing consultancy approaches, and understands the strategic vision for the agency and how this can be translated into marketing efforts that will allow Acart to build its presence in Canada and internationally.

In addition, you’ll be required to:

  • Look for and advocate for unique, innovative, and strategic ways to capitalize on what Acart does, can do, and should do, based on where the goals of the Agency stand with what is happening in the world – this year, two years from now, and further forward
  • Contribute to the development of annual marketing and communication plans to meet Acart business objectives, with the guidance and support of the CSO/Partners
  • Execute strategy using a full range of marketing activities including social media, website and content management, email marketing, partnerships, sponsorships, public relations, including unconventional means, that will help Acart be seen as one of a kind, not one of many
  • Track all Acart initiatives, including business development and hold subsequent regular briefings with CSO
  • Create and manage budgets for recommended Acart marketing initiatives
  • Research, create, and maintain a list of marketing and industry associations that Acart should be a part of, ensuring all member opportunities are being used
  • Seek key partnerships with other consultants and agencies, cultural groups, and creative initiatives that complement and/or add to our core areas of specialty
  • Build key media relations as a means of taking advantage of potential media opportunities for Acart – articles, client work to be promoted, opinion pieces, panels, and speaking opportunities
  • Work with Client Experience Team to leverage referrals from existing clients for introductions to other business
  • Be responsible for leading Acart social media and website to ensure it is relevant, reflecting events happening in the world and showcasing our best work – with support of, and in collaboration with, key Acart team members
  • Be responsible for managing RFP request and submissions with support from key Acart team members
  • Seek key opportunities for innovation that build awareness of Acart – events, podcasts, etc, – and leverage the team of unique and creative individuals within the agency
  • Create programs that drive a strong funnel of prospects
  • Collaborate with pitch teams (RFI/RFQ/RFP)
  • Teach and coach internal teams on the process and how they can participate

What you bring

  • You are a highly self-motivated and driven team player with 3-5 years experience contributing to growth at a creative firm
  • You have strong entrepreneurial skills and interest in building a world class agency
  • You are a creative thinker with keen interest in emerging trends, movements, culture shifts, and circumstances which play a role in determining moves to create a dynamic and evolving marketing/communications environment
  • Knowledge of a variety of marketing executions not limited to social media, PR, communications, digital, and events
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to persuade key stakeholders, when needed
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to establish timelines; flexible, with the ability to continually re-evaluate priorities
  • You thrive in a collaborative environment
  • Leadership skills and know-how to keep teams focused, resolve conflicts when required, and work to manage senior management teams
  • Skills as a team player but also the ability to work independently
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook, as well as pipeline and marketing automation software
  • Strong written and oral presentation skills in English (French is an asset)

Senior Digital Media Planner/Buyer

We are on the search for a full-time Senior Digital Media Planner/Buyer to join our growing team. We’re looking for someone with deep expertise in digital media planning and buying who is passionate and curious about media and advertising, staying current on advertising trends, and emerging media. You also understand B2B and B2C segments fluently and understand how each of these audiences consumes creative advertising.

In your role, you’ll report to our Media Director, while collaborating with Client Experience and Creative teams. You will play a critical role in a Media Department that plans and buys media space for national and local businesses in a variety of industries including retail, sports, transit, health care, and government. You are strategic and understand the importance of media in successful campaigns. You lead by example and hold yourself accountable. You are highly skilled when it comes to understanding our clients and their businesses and the challenges and opportunities they face.

You’re expected to understand Acart’s complete service offering and confidently speak to the agency’s capabilities when called upon to do so. In addition, you’ll be required to:

  • Assist the Media Director in developing innovative and strategic digital media strategies for our clients
  • Prepare and present media plans that will deliver on our clients’ objectives
  • Setup and launch digital campaigns within ad platforms including Facebook, Google, Twitter, Snapchat, and LinkedIn
  • Negotiate the purchase of media space with media vendors and manage all related contracts and insertion orders
  • Work with the Acart digital and client teams to coordinate the performance measurement framework
  • Monitor ad spends and optimize ad performance of digital campaigns by detecting and identifying top performing tactics
  • Prepare and present campaign reports, performance insights, and recommendations
  • Work with other agency teams in the development of ad material specs and ad distribution
  • Work alongside the Media Director and Client Experience team to develop new business for the agency

You bring

  • A minimum of 5–8 years digital media planning and buying experience with strong knowledge of paid search/SEO, display advertising, and social media advertising (E-commerce experience is an asset)
  • Expertise about the Canadian digital media landscape, usage trends, and available advertising vehicles and formats
  • Experience working with media research tools such as Comscore and Vividata to inform your digital media recommendations
  • Experience working with digital marketing platforms such as Google Ads, Facebook Business Manager, Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and E-commerce platforms such as Shopify
  • An ability to be analytical, organized, detail oriented, and to multi-task
  • Skills as a team player but also the ability to work independently
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong written and oral presentation skills in English (French is an asset)
