You may know Acart as a Social Issues Marketing agency, but did you know we’re Ottawa’s leading sports marketing agency as well? The two disciplines are quite closely intertwined.
Our goal, as always, is to do work that matters. And sports matter a lot to Canadians. Not just for entertainment, but for exercise, skills development and learning teamwork. Even more importantly, sports offer people the opportunity to fine-tune their physical and mental discipline through persistance and learning through failure as well as triumph.
As a sponsor of the 2013 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship (April 2-9, here in Ottawa) we are proud to be a part of women’s hockey. As fans, as parents, and as Canadians we are inspired by the hard work and dedication of Canada’s National Women’s Team. We also hope our women on the ice will inspire new generations of strong and fearless Canadian girls. That’s why we created this print ad for the WWC event program. And since today is International Women’s Day (that’s what the hashtag above is for) we thought we’d share it early.
Our experience promoting hockey in the Capital runs deep. We developed the “Hockey Country” brand for the Ottawa Senators and Ottawa 67’s several years ago. The 67’s had already been a client, as we had helped rebrand the team a few years before in an extensive marketing project that included materials for hosting the 1999 Memorial Cup. The Senators would become a client within a few months, and are still with us to this day. We have created a number of season and campaign brand campaigns for the Sens, as well as sales and fan engagement campaigns. We have seen the team through two NHL lockouts and six playoff runs. When it was time to update their principal team logo, we redesigned that as well. We also assisted with branding and promotion for The Sens Foundation.
When Ottawa made its bid for the 2009 IIHF World Junior Championship, we partnered with the Sens to provide branding and promotional creative for the pitch. When Ottawa was selected, more of our work became a part of hockey history.
We’re not just about hockey, however. Every sport has its heroes and opportunities for inspiring personal bests. In figure skating, we have worked with Skate Canada and, through the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, had the opportunity to create a branded cause marketing campaign — “I Heart Mom” — for Olympic Bronze Medallist Joannie Rochette.
We also worked with Ottawa’s former Triple-A International League baseball team, the Lynx.
Currently, we’re working with Squash Canada. After helping to rebrand the national association, we worked with them to develop an exciting new web presence that is set to become the go-to source for squash information in Canada.
Inspiration. That’s why we do sports. If you’d like to work with us on a winning campaign,
