A Brand for Squash Fans

Squash is one of the fastest growing sports in the world. Always on the consideration list as a new Olympic sport, it pushes the physical limits of both players and technology. In Canada, Squash Canada, the national sport association, is responsible for the development of athletes, coaches and officials and sets the standards for Canadian squash.

To match the sport’s growth, Squash Canada’s Executive Director, Danny Da Costa, approached Acart to provide the organization with a fresh brand identity and tagline. This branding initiative would reflect Squash Canada’s culture change as well as the organization’s values and mission towards excellence.

The end result was a logo and tagline which embody Canadian excellence in the sport. Acart’s designs present Squash Canada as the national leader and unified voice for squash in Canada, as well as the go-to source for squash-related information.
Acart is equally proud of the newly launched squash.ca website.

squash.ca presents visitors with rankings, results, news, athlete profiles, and standards, as well as a modern and innovative look. Any visitor can easily navigate and explore, while newcomers and prospective players can quickly get a feel for the sport and what it has to offer. The design works in harmony with the content which is representative of high performance and excellence.

“The results to date are incredible,” says Mr. Da Costa. “Through some small recommendations relating to our social media strategy we have grown over 300% in the number of users to our Facebook/Twitter pages. Our new logo and website have generated considerable attention in the squash community and we feel even in the early stages, our numbers are good.  The number of visitors to our site has increased considerably, the amount of time the visitors have spent on our website has increased and we have doubled the number of pages people visit from our past site.”

Acart is ecstatic about the results and proud to be a part of driving excellence in the sport of squash in Canada. Moreover, Canada’s National Squash team participated in the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico, medalling in six separate events. It’s hard not to be a fan of such a great accomplishment. GO CANADA GO!
